FC Blades GU14 Silver Elite team proudly display their Sheffield United game day jerseys at a recent practice. Sheffield United is one of the original English soccer clubs founded in 1889 and is the favored club of our Technical Director, Tim Woodcock.

Based in the heart of England in the steel town of Sheffield, which is renowned for its fine cutlery, Sheffield United adopted the nickname 'The Blades.'

They are a team on the rise and are poised to take center stage in the English Championship next season, and we felt an affinity with them, due to the fact that I have been a supporter for over 25 years, our growth, development and desire to also climb to the next level," said Woodcock.

For the second year running the FC Blades B98 team reached the State Cup final, only to suffer heart break. However, the boys put in a heroic effort and can count themselves very unlucky not to have come away with the championship.

The boys coached by John Roland, played some scintillating soccer but were denied time after time by some great Capo FC defending, and goal keeping. The boys can be proud of their achievements making the final of this major championship two years in a row, maybe next year will be third time lucky!

Great job boys!!!

FC BLADES represented in the Young Olympians Pool (YOP)!

Destinee Manzo & Amy Kirk

FC Blades will again be represented (4th year in a row) at the Young Olympians Pool (YOP) in Ventura, CA!

Two girls from the FC Blades G00(GU11) team were selected. Destinee Manzo, and new addition, keeper Amy Kirk will be part of 120 players chosen by Cal South scouts through State Cup to go and work with the Olympic Development Staff(ODP) with a chance to continue on through the Cal South ODP system.

Congratulations girls and good luck!!!!

The Junior Blades recreational youth soccer program provides a structured and developmentally appropriate curriculum for youth soccer players aged 3.5 – 12 years old. The beauty of our program is that players learn the quickest by having fun while playing the game. Our Academy Director is a professional coach and a former professional soccer player. He will train and educate each Junior Blades coach in all aspects of our program and give them constant support throughout the season. This way they can put into practice the age appropriate games and exercises that will develop the players to their fullest potential.

BU9 2012 Irvine Winter Classic Champions

FC Blades BU9 win the 2012 Irvine Winter Classic. The team went 3-0 in their bracket and defeated the Irvine Patedores Blue 4-2 in an exciting championship game. Blades Justin Lee was the tourney MVP for the team with a total of 11 goals over the weekend. The team had some help from some newcomers as well... Maddox & Andrew - thanks guys. Go Blades!
