NEW BOYS DIRECTOR – SCOTT HAMILTON

FC Blades announce that Scott Hamilton has been promoted to become the Director of Younger Boys program. Scott is originally from Glasgow, Scotland and he has a BSc in Sports Management. He also has a Scottish FA license and a USSF license.

The past 2 years has seen Coach Scott develop into a fantastic coach for younger players, his knowledge, enthusiasm and passion for the game are without question.  Scott is most definitely the RIGHT coach to help us progress to the next level!

Over the last several years, FC Blades have worked extremely hard to build our Youth Program into the most successful of its kind in Southern California.  This Spring we will have over 750 players enrolled in the Junior Blades and Academy programs alone (a 200% % increase from last year alone), with another 330 players in our club program.  We have established the FC Blades 'Brand' as one of the finest programs for developing and nurturing talented youth soccer players and helping them reach their full potential in this great sport in all of Southern California!  We have enjoyed fantastic success beating out our local competition, gaining numerous promotions, and winning a number of tournaments, but most importantly, developing these children in a fun and safe soccer environment.   We strive every day to achieve our mission:  ‘Individual Development, Team Success’

FC Blades now has the perfect strategy and personnel to become one of the Premier Clubs in Southern California. From our Junior Blades, under the guidance of Glen Gamble, to our Younger Girls Director, Andy Winn, both working alongside Scott, the future has never looked brighter. Rest assured the Club's commitment to our players has never been stronger.

Here’s what people are saying about Coach Scott Hamilton:

Scott sets the example of a coach that values both individual player
development and team dynamics.  On our child's team, he has been very
effective at building the team through developing a strong foundation of
skills and knowledge.  At the same time, his coaching style emanates the
true passion that he has for the game and his desire to promote that same
level of enjoyment to each and every one of his players.                                                                                   Kim Dang

Scott has made the transition from recreational soccer to Competitive soccer fun. It is amazing to see how he coaches each child, by putting their development in soccer first, while still creating a competitive fire. Thanks Scott. I look forward to another year with the Blades!

"Coach Scott is someone my son looks up to.  Aside from being a competent coach skill wise, Scott is attentive, reliable, and fun.  My son really enjoyed the experience and is looking forward to coming back to the team for the next season."

We really appreciate his coaching, his energy and enthusiasm with the kids. Matteo has really improved since he has started practicing with him. Scott's attitude is great, he always encourages the kids, and he makes them feel good. His technique and skills development are great too. We are so glad to have him as Matteo's coach and now also as the new Director of the Youth Program.

“Scott Hamilton has been a terrific coach and soccer mentor for our son’s first year in club soccer.  He has given us in insight into the competitive soccer world in Southern California and has been patient and understanding with our questions and needs.  For the boys, you really feel his connection with them and you also feel the respect that the boys have in return.  He is firm and disciplined, but is also a friend to the boys and they have fun.  We are happy for Scott’s promotion and the recognition he deserves.  We are also very happy to see our son continue to train and develop under Scott’s leadership.”

As a parent my experience of having Scott Hamilton work with my son has been tremendous. Teaching 8 year olds soccer is not the easiest thing in the world and Scott does it wonderfully. Scott is very positive and patient and does great job communicating what he wants the boys to do and getting them to do it!

Scott's encouraging and positive attitude keeps the boys motivated to play hard and excel in the game of soccer.  He makes learning soccer fun and interesting creating an environment that allows the boys to feel comfortable with him yet still respectful.  He is very knowledgeable about the game and applies methods to captivate the boys and bring out their potential.

Scott interacts with the boys well -- he has fun with them while in the position of head coach. He balances that friend/adult leader role well.
Scott got a great deal out of the BU9red team this past year.  From summer through end of league season every player improved a great deal making a leap to the "next level."  4 And 5 pass soccer is not unusual on this team and it can be a pleasure to watch them as a unit.

My son, Jared, has made tremendous progress and learned many skills under Coach Scott’s tutelage.  Scott has a very engaging personality that really connects with the younger boys.  He encourages and allows them to develop without overly stressing them.  He is able to maintain discipline on the team by emphasizing the teamwork and work ethics that will allow the boys to become mature players with good sportsmanship.  The Red team has been very competitive this year under Coach Scott’s direction and won the tournament in Coronado-San Diego.

I feel very privileged to have Scott as my son’s coach.

Scott has been a very encouraging and motivating coach for the kids.  He kept soccer fun for the kids and have them enhance the love for the game, while preparing them to attain higher competitive level.
