Coach Alex Filipovic’s FC Blades BU13 team won the 2010 Arsenal FC Summer Classic. In the qualifying round they won their games against Arsenal and Nott’s Forest FC 3-0 and 4-0, respectively. In the semi-final game they matched up against Chivas Jr, a first place Bronze team with an undefeated season. The final game against a Silver team from Cypress FC was a very close game with both teams going at it. Goalie Jonathan Shenk made spectacular game- winning saves to keep the Blades in the game. Late in the second half Andrew Reigle made a beautiful through pass to Trevor Saltonstall who made a one touch shot in the back of the net. It was truly a team effort. Goalkeeper Jonathan along with defensemen Jacob Capps, Bradley Dosch, Tyler Koski, Kyle Moha, Caleb ONeil and Tyson Rhodes, allowed only 1 goal. Midfielders, Jack Binford, Michael Cai, Zak Evans Andrew Reigle, Claudio Ryuta, Jeff Wood, and Sorob Wadood, gave defensive support while also generating and providing support for the 11 goals scored. Primary strikers Trevor Saltonstall and Parsa Aghaie gave the opponent’s defense and goalkeepers headaches all tournament.
