Let me add my congratulations to the team for some outstanding soccer played this weekend.

It was a real pleasure to watch the way in which the girls passed the ball around to each other culminating in a fantastic team performance in a final that they controlled from start to finish.

It's a great way to welcome the newcomers to the team who seem to be a perfect fit for the way in which we are trying to encourage the girls to play.

Never once were they overawed by the more dubious tactics of some of the other players and they rose above all challenges to fully deserve their championship medals.

Conceding one goal (from a free kick) in five hours of soccer is a fantastic achievement and everyone should be proud of themselves today.
